Big Creek Expeditions has it all: a clean facility, a knowledgeable and well-trained staff ( most with advanced first aid and CPR skills), good rafts and flotation devices, and a great stretch of river --especially for beginners. The upper trip is exciting but with a minimum of risk. Plus, our guide Shane really explained how to respond if we fell out of the raft, which is my only real fear. This trip has become the highlight of our Gatlinburg visit. I had fun but felt safe. P.S. Shane plays the blues in Charleston. Check out his music skills if you are heading that way.
